Passing of the Greatest Man I have ever known

23rd of March 2015 will be a day for Singaporeans to remember. Mr Lee Kuan Yew, Singapore's very first Prime Minister, passed away today. All the words have been said by many, so I shall keep it short. Without Mr Lee, we definitely wouldn't be where we are today. His contributions to the nation and to every of our lives cannot be described through mere words. Let's march on together and carry his legacy for as long as we can as one nation & one Singapore. Thank you for everything & rest in peace.

Feels like I'm losing the adventurous spirit in me. Have been slowly shifting my investments to less er risk & higher dividend yield counters like REITs. Oh well... Shall try hogging some cash for a few months & see if any interesting opportunities arise.

Stepping into a brand new year - 2015

Happy New Year everybody! As a rather typical person, I shall write something to round up the year of 2014.

2014 had been a year of transition for me, from a student to working adult. Still haven't find "the one", so I guess I should work harder in 2015. Hahaha! Maybe I shouldn't. Since they said that "it" will come along when least expected. Oh well...

Anyway, I manged to secure my first full time permanent job in 2014. Love the friendly people and fabulous work culture in my department. Real fortunate to be in this company. I am also looking forward to receive the first bonus of my life in the coming months hehehe...

Secondly, I'm absolutely grateful for the new friendships I made in 2014. Mostly from my workplace, others through friends. Maybe it's fate or affinity, I don't know, but don't you find it amazing when you can just hit it off with certain people? Yeah... Relationships between people are truly hard to figure. It'd also been a great honor to have traveled overseas with some of them. And of course, not forgetting all the good old friends who'd been here all these while. Thank you all!

Lastly, I'd like to wish all my family and friends good health and prosperity in the numerous years to come! Get hitched, make babies and write stories that will last many, many life times! Remember, gaining wealth may be important, but that 1 thing that should come before it is definitely good health! So... Have fun in 2015 y'all!

Officially Graduate loh!

So... We'd finally obtained the title of "Graduate". It'd been a long journey hasn't it? All the bitter-sweet moments, like staying back in school, cracking our heads to think of places which are conducive enough for working on the numerous projects, travelling to each others place or estate sometimes... Getting pissed at the leech. And doing silly assignments such as the economics journal or some shit, can't really remember... Looking back, I didn't quite had an exciting & fulfilling university life, did I? Oh yeah, maybe the infrequent nights we spent playing LAN. That was fun. And the Bashes at Zouk. Had only attended it twice, but was definitely epic enough. Oh well, what was I expecting. I guess it was all good. Considering all the friends I'd made. And lost.

Alright, shall post some photos of my convocation from the 25th of August. More to come, these are all that I have at the moment...
My supportive family & I.
I'd be nothing without them.
Part of the clique that made everything possible.
North-side Buddy.
Made University life easier.
I rarely take photo with woman.
But when I do, she's usually an angel in disguise :D
We'd certainly came a long way...
Yup, that's us.
I don't know if it's just me... But growing up has made posting pictures online kind of uncomfortable, especially on a blog. It sometimes feel like, "why am I sharing all these with people (or rather strangers)?" Then I'd ask myself again, "why not?" Haha... Yes, I'm contradicting like this.

Sigh... Another day wasted. Got to start making the days count!

Never let the failure of others be a hindrance to our advance. Take these failures as references. Avoid what they did wrong, improvise on the rights & be ready. The rest? Just got to believe that you've got what it takes. Just do it.

Last lecture of Bachelor Degree

"It might be the final lecture, but definitely not the final lesson in life."

So today marks the end of my journey as a student. Well, it's not exactly the end, still have examination for 2 modules and 1 project to clear. But on 10th of October 2013, I attended the last lecture of my university life. From here on, we should only cherish the memories we had, the laughter, the fun and the little moments. From here on, we should keep moving forward. The endless opportunities out there awaiting us, seize them all! (:
Great picture. Stay tight!
We've come a long way my friends. Oh wait, 2 years plus aren't that long right? Haha... Guess I'm real fortunate to have met all these great people out of the entire cohort. Or maybe I didn't know them well enough to see their dark side? Hahahaha! Just playing...We all have a good heart. We do. May everything goes well for all. Peace. (:

"I AM HARDWELL" at Fort Canning!

Last night was a blast! Went to "I AM HARDWELL" at Fort Canning with some of my friends. Was my first event at Fort Canning and the atmosphere was insane! DJ Dannic kicked off the event at 7pm, followed by the main-man Hardwell at 9pm. All the jumping, screaming and arms waving... I think I burnt 1,000 calories in those 5 hours man...The amount of sweat was almost equivalent to when I play basketball, haha!

So we were in the crowd raving and it got so warm that I took my top off, and the funny thing is when we squeezed out to get more drinks, my singlet was gone! My newly bought $10 singlet from Cotton On! Hahaha! And there was 1 part where I jumped so much, plus the dehydration from liquor and sweat, I actually got a cramp on my left calf! Hahaha! But it was too uncool to ask for help or sit down, so I simply stopped moving, stretched while standing and waited for it to go away, hahaha! Took about 40 seconds!

In the crowd!
We were so drained towards the end of Hardwell's set! Good energy!
Me with the babes of the night!
Imagine all those hands waving with the same beat & rhythm,
yes, that was how awesome it was.
Went to Zouk after party but was simply too drained and dry to party hahaha! Just hanged a little before heading... Great weather, great music, great company, what more can I ask for! Remember the night, cause that's how it's feel like to be young & free! Peace!

Birthday eve treats!

My baby brought me to eat at The Magic of ChongQing Hotpot at TangLin Shopping Center! A nice place for steamboat! Good ambiance and nice service! Their beef are so nicely sliced that we only had to dip it into the soup for around 8 seconds! And their 8 treasure tea tasted pretty refreshing!

The name of the store!

Spicy and chicken soup!

The babe & her fish paste! Oops, all in the pot already, haha!

My turn!

& Häagen-Dazs! All free for me :D Strawberry & Mango and Passion Fruit!

Then we caught a movie, Something Borrowed! Not bad for a love story, haha! Headed back to Yishun and bought beancurb to Yishun Dam as dinner before heading home! Haha, what a day!

Yummy!

Certified glutton! Hahaha!

Thanks my beloved girlfriend for the treats! Damn, the calories intake for the day must be sky rocket! Time to exercise! That is if I can get my lazy ass to move :D hahaha!

Batam & Zoo

So much happened since I last posted. Once again, its my annual Batam View Resort getaway, from the 5th to 7th November. Not much changes, only higher & more charges on their facilities... Even the table tennis are going for $2 per 30 minutes... Total crap! Didn't do much, watched some DVD-s(Piranha 3D & Reign of Assassins) , ate lots of junk food, basically just chill and sleep.

And I guess the highlight so far was going to Zoo with Lynette yesterday. Our plan of stepping into Zoo at 8:30am was disrupted by some... Okay, it doesn't matter anymore, shall not elaborate on that. Anyway, we managed to get there by 10:30, bought our tickets and off we went, with the blazing hot sun upon us. The tall, huge trees managed to keep us in shade most of the time though. To be honest, I had not seen so many animals awake in my umpteen visits previously. Saw lion feeding, nothing much actually, the trainer just threw some meat into the enclosure, that's all.

Had lunch at KFC in Children World, I was pretty shocked by how small it'd become. Rain started to fall heavily after awhile and we just chilled there, looking into each others eyes :D
After about an hour or so, the rain turned to a slight drizzle and we decided to carry on with our journey at Fragile Forest. Had some 'close' encounter with the animals, pretty fun!
Caught the "Splash!" animal show thingy, nothing much, just an solo performance by Stan the seal. But its back flip did amaze me, hahaha! Had Ben & Jerry's at the entrance area before heading home. A thunderstorm came from nowhere when we reached Khatib.

It was an real enjoyable day. I had fun, but... Sigh... Might post some pictures next time... Till then.

Full Metal Alchemist ends! I'm a Otaku

Full Metal Alchemist's manga finally came to an end today. Its the best ending you can expect, simply beautiful. I'm pretty damn touched too! No more FMA, but I'll probably never forget this manga series, just like Dragon Ball.

And this week's Naruto is awesome too! Shall not be a spoiler, but its good, pretty heartwarming :D haha! By the way, Bleach is getting crappier each week, ahahaha!

Promotion & Passing TP!

Holy shit! I can't believe I passed! Its the last day before my PDL expires too! Haha! The tester was like pin-pointing my mistakes like crazy throughout the test! He said my driving skill is ok, but safety wise quite bad. I thought I'd failed when he was telling me all the mistakes I made in the room but towards the end, he said, considering the heavy rain to how I performed, still okay. And his last words, "don't drink and drive." Ahahaha! Lucky... My tester is a nice man.

Oh, and today is officially the 8th month since I enlisted, means... I've been promoted to a CPL! I know... No big deal, but its still an increase in pay, a step closer to 3SG(means more $$$) and to ORD! Hahaha!

Now, I'll just have to get used to the car and its time to have some fun! & its time to save up for... Maybe A.P.C and some island get away! Gambling cruise sounds good too :D haha!

Great Dinner!

Today is my "sub-unit"'s 3rd anniversary! Had a sumptuous dinner at Safra Yishun's Pin Si Kitchen. Not a bad evening I would say, thought could have been better if they let us report later tomorrow morning :D haha! And I wished my closer NS friends were there...

Anyway, I'll be home alone for 3 days & 2 nights cause everyone else went to Malaysia for a short vacation. Its peaceful... Maybe its not that bad to be alone for awhile sometime. I'm damn tired now, probably gonna sleep in 5 minutes.

SNSD's 1st solo concert was a blast! Too bad I can't be there to watch it live... Hope they come out with a DVD or something... And I figured that I need a HD screen and Blue-ray player. HD can really provide some superb visual sensation.

SOA: Passing out; Sleeping disorder.

Finally graduated from SOA. We received our Ammo Basic Badge today but still have to wait for an official order before we can put it on. To others, it may just be a stupid and fugly badge, but to me, its more than a sign of qualification. Its about the memories in SOA, the times we spent studying like fools, trying to contain ridiculous load of information into our brains, getting all anxious bout the up coming test(s), looking at monkeys, rotting & talking cock in the training shed.

I can't remember when was the last time I had a good night sleep. My sleep always get disturbed at 2am and 4am. Eyes will just open for like 10 seconds and fall back to sleep. Sounds trivial, but the damage is there. I think because of this, I'm feeling fucking tired everyday from 7pm. Even as I'm sitting here, I can feel the nerve in my head pumping! Is it because I place my cellphone next to me when I sleep and the radioactive wave is acting on me, or is it because of stress like TP, etc...? Hmmm.... I KNOW! MUST BE BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE LOVE FROM GIRLFRIEND! Anyone can intro me girl? I'm desperate :D

Actually I have alot to write about. Things just come randomly but most of the time it'll slip off my mind by the time I reached home cause I'm so drained out... Haha, I hate my blog, filled with words, boring...

Modified BMT 240709 - 070909

My 7 weeks of Modified BMT is officially over. Although 7 weeks is a short time, a new bond was forged. I can still clearly remember how everyone were strangers on the first day; there were still much ice to be broken. But after a personal introduction session, we became friends and begin talking shit to each other. As days go by, our relationship became something real strong, as though we'd known one another for years.

Everyday when we sang our songs to the cookhouse or any particular places, it meant nothing much but entertainment while marching. However on the last day, when we took our last march as a platoon, singing the same usual songs towards the ferry terminal, I actually felt something. Its hard to describe that feeling with words. I think I'll miss Tekong together with the people and everything that happened during that 7 weeks.

All those enlisting these few days, all the best and have fun. I can say as much as I want, but its never more real than going through it yourselves.

I'm surprised that it still hurts after all these time. It still affects me, makes me feel down, darken my day and make me lose my way. I need a soulmate, a companion, a someone to hold when I'm all alone. I'm empty.

Day before enlistment

The last 2 days before enlistment were well spent. Yesterday was spent eating and singing with Kenneth & Ser Chin @ Thomson in the afternoon before dinning at Manhattan Fish Market with Joni, Kam Chuen and Hiang Peng at night. Was my first time there. We ordered a great deal of food for just the 4 of us; 2 side dishes, 2 soups, a seafood platter for 2 and a giant fried platter. Didn't even bother to finish the fries. Thanks Joni for the treat though.

Today was alright. Caught Public Enemy with Ser Chin followed by Harry Potter & The Half Blood Prince with the others. Public Enemy was good, interesting storyline but lack of gun fights, was expecting it to be more action packed. Harry Potter & The Half Blood Prince was... Alright I guess. No high hopes! Haha! The problem with Harry Potter movies is that they always use the same boring "flashing-invisible-and-knock-back" spells. And the only 2 wizards that can cast godly, graphic intensive spells(like fire storm, lighting, water, etc) are Voldemort and Dumbledore. Bo hoseh!

Then we dined at Din Tai Fung. Its my first time there as well, fried rice with prawn looked and tasted good, as for the xiao long pao... Nothing special, its either all that I had eaten were equally good or they all were supposed to taste like that.

And just to let those who can't be bothered or what so ever about my life(if you managed to make it here that is), I will be enlisting aka serving the country tomorrow!
From the bottom of my heart, I sincerely thanks those that wished me well and asked about how I feel. Hmmm... The truth is... I feel excited yet afraid at the same time. The thought of going to a totally unfamiliar place filled with strangers, it sucks. The thought of having no access to the internet, that sucks too. But the thought of having no weekdays, this sucks the most! Hahaha! If only I had a girl telling me that she will be waiting for me... I'd be in heaven~ Oh, I may twit, thats if I'm bo liao enough to do so :D

We are like strangers.

A night at Moberly

I actually went to study overnight in school!!! & to be honest, we were chilling most of the time, ahaha! But its ok, my intension was never study to start with. Just wanted to try BBQ-ing in school after midnight! Ahahaha!

Isn't my new water bottle cool? Ahaha!

Quite a number of people were there, say 20?

And the BBQ begins! Insert $0.20!

Let it burn! Let it burn!

Our food: 2 packets of crab sticks, a packet of hams and sausages each.

Crab sticks down.

Sausages down.

The 2 chiefs of the night, Wei Xian & Daniel.

This is how Moberly looks like at 1:09a.m. too dark huh...

Hell yah! Its done! Let's feast!

Imagine studying through the night with a plate of BBQ cuisine on your right :D

And I finally got super-duper fucking bored, so I took out my laptop and found out there is a lunar eclipse at around 4 to 5a.m!!! & we went out and checked it out!

Pretty cool huh?

Louyazoom. Nothing much actually, just portion of the moon covered. But its still astonishing to me :D

And we saw this beetle during pee break.

And its finally 6:30a.m! Time for home!

What the fuck!? Unidentified blurry figure!

Overall, a nice & fun experience! Happy people :D

P.S. You are responsible for your own actions if you BBQ after 9p.m. without booking in school if caught.
:D

Double S - Sentosa & Steamboat!

Happy 19th birthday to Andrew! Went home at around 12a.m. as there is Sentosa outing the next day! Ok la, I admit I couldn't take another sip of that Chivas that I had to run home :D

Haha! And so, to the beach on Saturday morning! Awesome weather, just a tiny winy problem... Its a 6 GUYS outing to the Siloso! Haha! Hella gay... But I said its tiny, so I guess its still cool.

The sky is the definition of perfect weather.

& pretty cloudless! Guess you can imagine how deadly was the sun...

& its fucking flooded! I was amazed that quite a number of people actually brought their own beach volley court! Haha!

We chilled there until 5:20p.m. queued for shower and by the time everyone was done, its already fucking 6.20! All of us were starving like pigs, so we decided to have something with ridiculously enormous serving. Yes, its steamboat! & we also wanted air-condition due to the few hours of sun exposure.

We walked around Bugis in search of the most worth while steamboat shop & after about half an hour, we finally settled down and the feast begins!
Our degree of hunger is indescribable.

After 3 hours of continuous eating...

Forgot the name of the shop, anyway, the rating...
Service: 4.5/5 - Friendly and accommodating staffs. The funniest shit is when Don dropped his pair of chopstick, the lady handed him a new pair within 3 seconds, ahahaha!
Food: 3.5/5 - Fish was fantastic. Fresh meats and free flow drinks! I think its the most important factor for steamboat cause I won't wanna spend too much on drinks.
Environment: 3.5/5 - Not bad, AC is quite cooling, LCD TV with channel U available. The only bad point is probably the limited moving spaces and 1 restroom.

And I'm going to take a shower & sleep, it'd been 2 long days...

Here with me...

It was primary one when we first knew each other. Other than primary 3, we were in the same class, 1/3, 2/3, 4C, 5C & 6C. Pokemon cards, hanging out in the park before/after school, tamiya, etc, etc, we did all sort of rubbish that kids at that time did.
After primary school, we went to Orchid Park and Northbrooks. We don't really hang out anymore but still bump into each other on the streets.

And today, this friend of mine had to go to a better place. Didn't get the chance to see him one last time but still, it feels like he is right here with me.

RIP my dear friend, you're unforgettable.
