Turi Beach Batam 16 - 17 April 2011

Went to Turi Beach Resort at Batam with Lynette on the 16th of April! The reason we went there is because my baby needed a quick get away quickly & I wanted to try out purchasing a coupon which is pretty popular these days, so I bought a coupon from http://www.coupark.com

So my dad sent us to Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal in the morning, around 8am, collected out ferry tickets and pay $20 each for some tax shit.

While waiting for the gate to open!

Reached Nongsapura Ferry Terminal at Batam.

Learned from my cousin that the reason this place is called Nongsapura is because the place is a project between Indonesia & Singapore's government to develop the Nongsa of Batam. That's probably the reason why most resorts there uses SGD.

Got a shock when I arrived at the resort as it was so beautiful and well maintained.

A portion near the reception.

Beautiful view of the pool! This is actually the old pool.

New pool! The one we swam in.

A peep into our humble room.

Decent toilet. Wasn't expecting a bathtub cause I don't really need one and from my experiences, beach resort usually don't have one, unless its those 5 star resorts.

Well, we actually had some problem with our room. First, the key for the safe was lost, so we can't use it and the sliding door for the balcony was broken and we had to wait around 30 minutes for someone to get it fixed.

Always go for Nasi Goreng when on vacation in Batam! Yummy!

They have this real long 'jetty' that extends roughly 200m out into the sea and at 1 point of the 'jetty' has this Island Bar or something, pretty chilling.

Can't believe we slept on the hammock for around 3o to 45 minutes!

And we went for a swim! Its fun to take picture underwater!

Peace!

Went to Batam Center to get some cheap ass daily necessaries before heading back to Singapore. Great trip overall, looking forward to my next get away!

Haw Par Villa!

Went to Haw Par Villa last Saturday and I totally understand why nobody barely goes there anymore... The place is extremely exposed to heat from the blazing sun, totally out of place and inaccessible, figurines or exhibits are all broken and worn. Didn't even see a single worker or maybe I couldn't identify them.

Anyway, this place is named after 2 brothers, Mr. Aw Boon Haw and Mr. Aw Boon Par, with Haw meaning Tiger and Par, Leopard.

The entrance! Didn't really bring back memories... Guess I totally forgot about the place.

Nice right? Taken by lovely Lynette, in fact most of the pictures are, mine are too horrendous to be shown :D

This is the 'Tiger-car', previously owned by the founder and owner of Haw Par Villa, and of course the legendary Tiger Balm

& these 2 are believed to escort people to hell after their death!

Oops, think thats called a 'down-pants', ahahaha!

福禄寿! Chinese deities whom represents Good Fortune, Prosperity and Longevity!

Beauty and the pig? Ahahaha!

Is my head small or its ear huge?

Scary cat expression! Hahaha!

Hover hand?

Tried using this to win some 4D that day, but didn't really work, hahaha!

Er... No comment.

& the 2 survivors! Do check out the place if you people really got nothing to do, ancient Chinese heritage can be pretty interesting!
